With the continuous iteration and improvement of energy functions, backbone design and side-chain optimization, computational protein de novo design has entered an unprecedented era, enabling the design of increasingly complex protein structures and functions. Despite remarkable progress, integrating deep learning with data-driven approaches may become a game-changer in this field. A recent review by Sergey Ovchinnikov and Po-Ssu Huang elaborates on how structural information can replace conventional backbone design, side-chain optimization and energy functions, opening up new possibilities for protein design.
Leveraging the AlphaFold2 platform and combining cutting-edge technological innovations, Micro-tech.inc realizes the full workflow of protein de novo design and expression from theory to practical application. We provide customers with one-stop services covering theoretical design, gene construction, expression, purification, quality inspection and functional analysis, and deliver final protein products with high purity and low endotoxin levels.
Virus-Like Particle (VLP) Protein Expression Platform
Chimeric VLPs can be constructed by inserting the extracellular domains of target transmembrane proteins into the flexible loop regions of HPV16-L1. Additionally, leveraging the in vitro assembly capability of HPV16 L1 protein, we can concentrate the protein to form VLPs and enhance the immunogenicity of transmembrane proteins. We have further broadened the platform’s applications to achieve high-efficiency expression of eukaryotic membrane proteins, which can assemble into VLPs in transduced mammalian cells.
